YH 39x35 PVM 14L3 (sound & light installation 2019)
This installation combines CRT monitors, solar cells, digital signal processors and motorfaders to generate endless optical and sonic compositions. Feedback loops between the monitor and the solar cell are constantly being converted to digital signals. An integrated circuit shifts these up and down in the frequency spectrum. The signal is visible on the monitor and simultaneously produces sound via the speaker. The intensity of the feedback is altered by the position of the solar cell, which is mounted on a motorized fader in front of the monitor. Four identical objects, each consisting of a monitor, solar cell, motorfader, digital-analog-converter, digital signal processor and a speaker, are installed on a wall. They alter between playing autonomously and synchronized. All together they create a system, generating a wide variety of optical and tonal stimuli by changing only a few parameters.
